“Judgement to Admiral Miodrag Jokić”

 

In his first appearance before the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, in November 2001, Admiral of the former Yugoslav People’s Army (JNA) Miodrag Jokić pleaded not guilty to crimes committed by forces under his command in Dubrovnik in 1991. In August 2003, Jokić however, entered a plea agreement with the Prosecution, pleaded guilty to six counts and the Prosecution recommended to the judges a 10-year prison sentence for Jokić. In March 2004, Jokić was sentenced to 7 years in prison.
